Jim has attempted to walk across the United States five times...on foot. He was born in Orange, New Jersey and raised in Livingston, New Jersey. He is a four year Marine Corps veteran. He is 55 years old and “qualifies for the Denny’s senior menu”. In addition to his amazing sense of humor and knack for accents, he has big dreams and believes the 6th attempt to cross the United States will be the last. Jim set out to cross the United States on foot for the first time in April of 1998 for cancer research awareness in memory of his father, Lawrence Hickey. This cold weather has me craving all of my cozy spots in Fort Collins! I am a dedicated coffee and tea drinker. I appreciate a quality, warm cup of black coffee in the morning just as much as I enjoy a hot cup of tea in the middle of the day- the idea of having my fingers wrapped around a hot mug that I love!
