Big thanks, from the Fernweh!

Today I’m reflecting on 2016 and what a whirlwind it has been! Between finishing up my year teaching in Korea, traveling to Japan, Philippines, Hong Kong, & Mexico, then arriving back at my home in Fort Collins and becoming a part of the Fernweh team. Through all of the highs and lows I’ve been thankful for the amount of growth 2016 gave me, in my career and in my personal life. The Fernweh has been a grand adventure for me and I’m so incredibly thankful to have met all of the guests that I did during my past 5 months here. Meet our Manager!

Hi everyone! I’m really excited to introduce myself as the Fernweh’s manager! My name is Jiela (like Sheila but with a soft “j” sound), and I have an extensive love for travel, people, & adventure. I was born and raised near Denver, Colorado, and eventually made my way to Fort Collins in 2010 to attend CSU. I studied Social Work and Spanish, and graduated in May of 2014. The following February I left to Southeast Asia, then made my way to teach English for one year in South Korea. I got back this past summer, and now here I am at the Fernweh!
